Thomas L. Miller, M.D., is the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Miller oversees the offices of Quality and Safety, Infection Control, Graduate Medical Education, Patient Experience, Value Engineering, Data Warehouse, Hospital Medical Informatics, Revenue Compliance, and Medical Staff. His reports include Chief Value Officers, and Chiefs of Medical Informatics, Medical Quality, Ambulatory Care, Graduate Education, and Physician Revenue. Dr. Miller is also a practicing clinician in the Division of General Medicine, Department of Medicine.

University of Utah Health (UUH) has received the annual top 10 Vizient Quality and Accountability Award for the past eight years and was number 1 in two of those  UUH was the first hospital system to implement physician comments and ratings online.

Dr. Miller received his M.D. from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.  He completed residency and chief residency in internal medicine at the University of Utah, Department of Medicine in 1992.
