Dr. Claudia Fox is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Co-Director of the Center for Pediatric Obesity Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Medical Degree from the University of Minnesota. Also at the University of Minnesota, she completed her residency in Pediatrics, fellowship in Academic General Pediatrics, and Master’s in Public Health. Dr. Fox is board certified by both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She is driven to deliver compassionate care to youth with obesity in her capacity as the medical director of the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital Pediatric Weight Management Program where the full spectrum of obesity therapies are offered, ranging from lifestyle modification therapy to metabolic and bariatric surgery. Dr. Fox is also a productive researcher in the field of pediatric obesity, particularly in the area of pharmacotherapy for pediatric severe obesity. She has served as a principal investigator and co-investigator on several NIH-funded and industry sponsored clinical trials examining the use of medications for pediatric obesity. Her personal mission is to lead the development of effective, comprehensive, evidence-based treatment strategies that will improve the lives of youth afflicted with severe obesity.
