How can U.S. News make its Best Children’s Hospitals rankings most useful to parents of children with serious illness? Achieving the full potential of data transparency in pediatric care requires the ongoing collaboration of U.S. News, its data contractor RTI International, and the scores of children’s hospitals that devote staff time and clinical expertise to advising U.S. News on definitions and scoring practices, tracking and reporting quality metrics, and striving to improve the care they deliver. This session will recap recent changes to the hospital survey instrument and methodology, outline potential future directions for the U.S. News rankings, and feature dialogue between the audience and a panel of U.S. News and RTI methodologists.
