Dr. Clay Johnston is inaugural Dean of the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. He has an ambitious vision to build a world-class school by creating a vital, inclusive health ecosystem supporting new and innovative models of education, healthcare delivery and discovery. Dr. Johnston is also a Neurologist specializing in stroke care and research. While at UCSF, he served as Associate Vice Chancellor of Research and founding director of the Center for Healthcare Value. He is a graduate of Amherst College, completed medical school at Harvard University and received a Ph.D. in epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley.
