Dr. Richard Tam is the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Mackenzie Health. Dr. Tam is responsible for numerous portfolios at Mackenzie Health including Clinical Support Services, Support Services, Clinical Utilization and Quality Based Procedures, Finance & Information Management, Information Communication, Automation and Technology (ICAT), Transformation and Innovation. Previously, he was Vice President, Finance and Corporate Services, responsible for Capital Projects, Financial Services, Information Technology, Information Management Decision Support, Business Development, Payroll, Parking, Case Costing, Support Services and Procurement.
With more than 20 years of healthcare related experience, Dr. Tam has held various senior leadership roles in different hospitals. He plays a pivotal role in implementing financial best practices, developing strategies, new business models and actively participates in various committees in the health sector and local community. In 2016 , Dr. Tam was the recipient of the Innovation in Healthcare Leadership award from the Canadian College of Healthcare Leaders. He holds an MBA from York University, a BSc from the University of Manchester and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
