Akin Demehin is a director of policy at the American Hospital Association (AHA) in Washington, D.C. Demehin leads and supports public policy development and advocacy efforts related to quality and patient safety on behalf of the AHA’s nearly 5,000 member hospitals and health systems. Specifically, he manages policy issues related to national quality reporting and pay-for-performance programs for hospitals, post-acute care providers and physicians. Before joining the AHA, Demehin worked at the National Quality Forum, and the Center for Quality and Safety at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Demehin holds a Master of Public Health in health policy and administration from Yale University, and a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in history and science from Harvard College.
